I don’t know what it was, but the third or so time listening to this, I thought of Rio/Mele. But I think the line "I wish you wouldn't follow me…all the way" caught my attention, and then as the song progressed, I associated it more and more with Rio/Mele. I didn't even know all of the lyrics, 8D;; But for some reason, I sensed a sort of melancholy from this song (that some people may not hear, because of the song's beats), a sort of gentle, doomed sadness…idk, I'm rambling

Melancholy, yet…uplifting? The lyrics are reminiscent of someone encouraging another to keep on going. And yet, the melody (no pun intended, xD) suggests a deep sadness that maybe it is something tragic that is the reason melody. needs to urge someone to go on. What a strange song to associate with Rio and Mele. But as I'm looking at these lyrics, I'm reminded of that time when Mele said to Rio, "If I can erase the rain in Rio-sama's heart[…]" And I've always been fond of the idea that Mele's presence in itself was a comfort to Rio. Thus, the "keep on moving" lyrics. Or something.

The line "my power, my pleasure, my pain" instantly struck me; it was so powerful. And then became the name of this fanmix as I'd thought it something of a perfect description of Rio/Mele (yes I realize it applies to a lot of couples/people/things, shut up).

The sad prettiness of the song aside, there's actually only two verses (or would that be refrain? ._.) that stand out:

They remind me of Mele's death ;_; where she "left" him, and the second, while not analogous, reminds me of when Mele offered Rio her hand (instead of the other way around). Also, now that I think of it, the "you were supposed to be at my side" reminds me of the time where Long took Mele away. :<

An orchestral version (it wouldn't be called a "cover," would it?) of Utada Hikaru's time will tell. The orchestrated rearrangement is quite melancholy, reminding me occasionally of Hitoshizuku no Kibou with how sad it is. That and the name led me to include this song.
